FAA Registration
The FAA has recently made changes that affect our hobby, that requires those flying models over 1/2 lbs. under the ‘Special Rule for Model Aircraft’ to register with the FAA. We highly recommend that you compete this process and understand the rules involved.
The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST)
In addition to these requirements, the LARKS flying site is located within the Astatula Landfill located in Tavares Florida. Members are required to read and sign a copy of the land use agreement. When your membership application has been verified, payment made and your AMA number and membership are checked as valid, the club secretary will email you with instructions. You will be required to meet the safety member at the field to discuss flying site rules, flight safety, site equipment operation and demonstrate your flying ability as indicated on your membership.
