Flying Field

Lake Aircraft Radio Kontrol Squadron, Inc (LARKS) is located NW of Orlando Florida. The RC Club is a group of modelers dedicated to the promotion and enjoyment of all things related to Radio Control Aircraft Hobby.

The LARKS is a Chartered Club (1721) of the Academy of Model Aeronautics and enjoys a membership level capped at 100 members.

The current flying site has be provided (under lease agreement) by the Parks and Recreation Department of the Lake County and Astatula Landfill.

The club field is located on the southern end of the Astatula Landfill and boasts a 45′ X 500′ Geotextile Fabric runway that runs east – west with pilots facing North.

There is a separate launching and landing pad with pilot station behind the shelter area to support Heli and Drone flying.

A permanent shelter with fans provides shade and cooling to support gatherings, coffee breaks and rest area. Within the shelter, there is a charging station complete with 12 and 24 VDC and 120 AC outlets.

Visitors are welcome to come out to the field, but must be accompanied by a member. The field is member access only.
